Sanford/Seminole County YouthBuild
In 2006, the City of Sanford implemented a community improvement program, Sanford/Seminole County YouthBuild.
This program offers underprivileged and undereducated youth the opportunity to receive a formal education, vocational
skills, leadership development and job placement. The trainees build homes with Habitat for Humanity as well as
refurbish existing homes for low income residents in Seminole County.
Due to federal budget cuts in 2007, Sanford/Seminole County YouthBuild was one of the 322 qualified programs who did not
receive continued funding. In order to sustain this vital program, we are now seeking other funding opportunities. Click
here to find out how to get involved. Without the support of our community this extremely successful program will be at
risk of having to close its doors.
Thank you for helping to shape the leaders of tomorrow by supporting Sanford/Seminole County YouthBuild today.
