Directors' web pictureMr. Bilal Iftikhar is the Director for the Department of Public Works and Utilities. Bilal has been with the City of Sanford since 2002. He has more than sixteen years of experience in the civil engineering and public works fields encompassing both the private and public sectors.

Bilal is responsible for the management of eight operating divisions within the Department of Public Works. These operating divisions are Administration, Street and Stormwater Maintenance, Parks & Grounds, mosquito/midge control, Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Divisions, and Solid Waste Department.

Bilal began his career in Public Works in 1999 with the Orange County Public Works Department. After graduating from the Central Florida with a degree in Civil Engineering, Bilal then attended the Florida A & M University College of Law and graduated with a degree in Law in 2008.
