Building Address Signage
- What size address numbers does the building require and where must they be displayed ?
- The address numbers for commercial buildings are required to be at least 6 INCHES in height and must be displayed in a clear, conspicuous space on the building, be of contrasting color to the building, and must be easily viewed from the opposite side of the street.

Fire Extinguishers, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Hood Suppression system
- What size fire extinguisher is required?
- Typically, a 2A10BC rated fire extinguisher is required. Kitchens with a hood suppression system, an additional K rated fire extinguisher is required. Buildings classified as Industrial require a 4A60BC rated extinguisher.
- How many fire extinguishers are required?
- 1 properly rated fire extinguisher for every 3000 square feet of space, and/or 1 properly rated fire extinguisher for every 75 feet of travel.
- How often do the following items need inspection and /or recertification? Who is authorized to inspect and/or recertify the item?
- Fire extinguishers: Annually, by a certified Fire Protection contractor Sprinkler systems: Annually, by a certified Fire Sprinkler contractor Hood Suppression systems: Every 6 months, the system must be serviced, cleaned, inspected and recertified by a certified Hood Suppression System contractor.

Electrical Panel
- Does the electrical panel require labels?
- Yes. The panel should be labeled, clearly identifying each circuit.
- Does the electrical panel have all circuit spaces covered, sealed and secured?
- All spaces, voids etc. are required to be properly covered, sealed and secured.

Flammable or Combustible Fuel / Liquid storage
- Does the business store flammable or combustible fuels / liquids in plastic or glass containers?
- ALL flammable or combustible fuels / liquids are required to be stored in approved, labeled containers.
