Bike Helmets
In conjunction with the Sanford Police Department, we are working to help children ride safer. When a Sanford Police Officer sees a child riding without a recognized bicycle helmet, he will stop the child and issue him/her a special citation. This citation must then be taken to the Sanford Fire Department main station at 1303 S. French Avenue, to be exchanged for a helmet. Failure to do so will result in a fine for the child and his/her guardian. This is a one time only opportunity.
