Cecongie Bradwell better known around Sanford as "CJ" received a 15 yr. prison sentence on October 29th, 2009 in Seminole County, Florida.

Cecongie Bradwell was recently released from prison on March 30th, 2008 after serving approximately 9 months of a 15 month sentence for Sale/Delivery/Manufacture and Possession of Cocaine. Upon release from prison Mr. Bradwell returned to Sanford where he resumed his criminal past.

Over several months after Cecongie Bradwell's release from prison numerous criminal reports were filed on him with Law Enforcement, to include the Sanford Police Department and Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

Offense Case #200900004785
On May 22nd, 2009 Officers from the Sanford Police Department Street Crimes Unit attempted contact with Cecongie Bradwell in the Midway section of Seminole County (unincorporated Sanford) in reference to a pedestrian violation. Upon approaching, Mr. Bradwell took flight, on foot, in an attempt to elude them. During the foot chase Officers observed Mr. Bradwell remove and discard a loaded Lorcin 38 caliber semi-automatic handgun. The Firearm was recovered by Officers from a residential yard. Charges were filed on Mr. Bradwell in reference to this case.

Offense Case #200950003829
On June 11th, 2009 Officers from the Sanford Police Department responded to the area of 1111 Orange Avenue in reference to a drive by shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the victim who was able to provide information on the vehicle and a shooter known to him as "CJ". A short time after the incident a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and information was received in reference to the occupants of the vehicle at the time of the drive by. One of the two shooters was identified as Cecongie Bradwell. An arrest warrant was issued for this case.

On July 9th, 2009 Law Enforcement Officers were aware that Cecongie Bradwell was wanted for the drive by shooting (attempted homicide) that occurred on June 11th, 2009. Information was received indicating that Mr. Bradwell was driving a stolen burgundy Mercury Grand Marquis. Deputies from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. It was then that the occupant was identified as Cecongie Bradwell. In an attempt to avoid apprehension Mr. Bradwell rammed a marked patrol vehicle, damaging it enough to render it inoperable. Mr. Bradwell fled the area.

On July 9th, 2009 Law Enforcement Officers were actively looking for Cecongie Bradwell in reference to the incident earlier that date, in which he rammed a patrol vehicle and the active warrant in reference to the drive by shooting (attempted homicide). The stolen burgundy Mercury Grand Marquis was located in the area of 16th Street and Olive Avenue. Upon approach by Officers, Cecongie Bradwell once again fled the area. Mr. Bradwell driving the stolen vehicle, in a reckless manner, spun out in the area of 7th Street and Olive Avenue. Mr. Bradwell abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Mr. Bradwell was apprehended a short time later.

Cecongie Undry Bradwell Jr. entered the Seminole County courthouse on October 29th, 2009. Mr. Bradwell appeared before Judge Donna McIntosh. Mr. Bradwell entered a plea of No Contest to all charges against him which included: Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, 4 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Resisting an Officer without Violence and felony Criminal Mischief.

Cecongie Undry Bradwell Jr. was sentenced to 15 years prison with a special provision for his involvement in the drive by shooting on June 9th, 2009. This provision indicates that for use of a firearm he must serve a minimum 10 years imprisonment. However, due to the fact that Mr. Bradwell is designated as a "Prison Releasee Reoffender" he must serve 100% of the 15 year sentence in prison.

Cecongie Bradwell is the first person convicted under the Sanford Police Department's Criminal Repeat Offender Program. There will be no early release for Cecongie Bradwell. Mr. Bradwell will not be released until the year 2024.

For those few criminals that think crime pays...not in Sanford. If you are committing crimes in our city, you need to know we will relentlessly pursue you and seek the maximum incarceration allowed under Florida law.
