David Cardona received a 15 year prison sentence on January 27th, 2010, in Seminole, County, Florida.
David Cardona was released from Martin County Work Camp (prison) on July 1st, 2006 after serving a total of 4 ½ years for False Imprisonment and
Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure/Conveyance.

On April 21st, 2009 at approximately 11:55 p.m.
Officers from the Sanford Police Department responded to the CVS Pharmacy located at 3798 Orlando Drive Sanford, Fl in reference to a robbery that had just occurred.
Upon arrival Officers met with the female victim.
The victim advised Officers that while exiting her vehicle in the south parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy an unknown Hispanic male approached her in a vehicle asking her for directions.
The victim approached the vehicle to assist with directions and look at a map the suspect was holding.
The victim stated the suspect grabbed her purse she was holding and began to drive off in the vehicle.
The victim described how she became entangled in the purse straps and struggled to free herself.
The victim stated the suspect continued to drive north through the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy, dragging her body along side the vehicle.
The victim was dragged for approximately 100 feet.
The victim reported that the suspect stated "You're going to let go" referring to her in a derogatory manner, as he released her from his grasp.
The suspect fled the area leaving the victim badly injured in the parking lot.
The victim's injuries were so extensive that they covered a majority of her body.
The injuries were so severe that the victim was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.
The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male, appearing to be in his twenties, clean shaven, with a "small build".
The victim reported that a brown leather purse valued at $20.00 was stolen during the robbery.
The victim reported there was approximately $70.00 in U.S. currency, a cell phone and miscellaneous forms of ID and credit cards inside the purse.
Multiple attempts were made to utilize the victim's credit cards, with no success.
The victims cell phone however; had been used and provided the Sanford Criminal Investigations Section with the lead that they needed to identify the suspect.
A phone call had been placed by the suspect to an acquaintance.
From this call the suspects name was obtained.
The name was David Cardona.
Mr. Cardona was placed in a photo line up and was positively identified as the suspect that had robbed the victim and subsequently caused injury to her.
An arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of David Cardona for the charge of Robbery.
On April 30th 2009, David Cardona was apprehended in the State of Texas.
With full extradition, Mr. Cardona was brought back to Seminole County to answer for this charge.
On January 27th, 2010, David Cardona entered the Seminole County courthouse where he appeared before Judge Donna McIntosh.
Mr. Cardona entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Robbery.
Mr. Cardona was sentenced to 15 years prison. Due to the fact that Mr. Cardona is designated as a "Prison Releasee Reoffender" he must serve 100% of the 15 year sentence in prison.
Mr. Cardona is not eligible for gain time and was deemed a Habitual Felony Offender.
David Cardona is the fourth person convicted under the Sanford Police Department's Criminal Repeat Offender Program.
For those few criminals that think crime pays...not in Sanford.
