Durran Demonte Daniels received a 30 year split sentence on February 10th, 2010, in Seminole County, Florida.

Durran Demonte Daniels is no stranger to Law Enforcement Officers in the Seminole County area. A long time resident of the City of Sanford, since 1993, Mr. Daniels has 119 documented contacts between the Seminole County Sheriff's Office and the Sanford Police Department.

On 06/02/2004 Mr. Daniels was sentenced to 1 year 10 months prison for Cocaine Sale/Manufacture/Delivery. Mr. Daniels served 6 months of that sentence in Wakulla Correctional Institute and on December 23rd, 2005 Mr. Daniels was released back into the community. Less than one month after being released from prison, the Sanford Police Department received yet another criminal complaint against Durran Demonte Daniels; and another 8 to follow within that year.

The Sanford Police Department would like to extend our most sincere appreciation by congratulating the Seminole County Sheriff's Office and the 18th Judicial Circuit Career Criminal Unit on their conviction of Durran Demonte Daniels. Our community has yet again benefited from the dedication and committed partnership between Law Enforcement and the Career Criminal Unit. The men and women of the Sanford Police Department on behalf of the community, say thank you to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office and the 18th Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office Career Criminal Unit. Due to their conviction of Mr. Daniels, another dangerous criminal has been removed from our streets.
Seminole County Offense Case #20090001327

On February 10th, 2009 the Seminole County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to 1709 Tangerine Avenue Sanford, Fl in reference to residential Burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim.

The victim reported that a family member arrived home to discover their home had been burglarized. The victim reported that on that date between 8:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., an unknown person(s) entered her home by pushing a window air conditioning unit out of the window, allowing them access through the window, into the home. A bedroom door which had been secured, was found broken, allowing entry into the room. The victim reported multiple items had been stolen from the home. Among the items taken were a jewelry box, laptop computer and a camcorder.

The scene was processed for physical evidence and submitted to the Seminole County Forensic Services Unit and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Among the evidence collected was a single cigar butt left inside the residence as well as latent fingerprints recovered from the air conditioning unit.

Upon processing the physical evidence the cigar butt was confirmed to possess the DNA of Durran Demonte Daniels, in the form of saliva. The fingerprints recovered were also a positive match to Mr. Daniels.

On April 3rd, 2009 Investigator Guerra with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office placed Durran Demonte Daniels under arrest and transported to the Seminole County jail for processing on this case.

On December 16th, 2009 Durran Demonte Daniels entered the Seminole County courthouse where he appeared before the Honorable Judge O.H. Eaton Jr. and a jury of his peers. After a brief trial, Mr. Daniels was found guilty as charged, for the crimes of Burglary of a Dwelling and Grand Theft.

On February 10th, 2010, Durran Demonte Daniels was sentenced to a total of 30 YEARS; 20 YEARS PRISON FOLLOWED BY 10 YEARS SUPERVISED PROBATION, for the charges of Burglary of a Dwelling and Grand Theft. Mr. Daniels was sentenced as a Habitual Felony Offender.
