Terry Leroy Tillman Sr. received a 7½ year and 5 year concurrent prison sentence on November 10th, 2009 in Seminole County Florida.

Mr. Tillman is no stranger to the system. Since 1998, Mr. Tillman has been in and out of the prison system 8 times for crimes such as narcotics, theft and robbery. Terry Leroy Tillman Sr. was recently released from prison on 02/12/2007 after serving 2 years and 11months of a 3½ year sentence, for 6 counts of Trafficking in Stolen Property. Upon release from prison once again Mr. Tillman returned to Sanford, Fl where he continued to have numerous documented contacts with Law Enforcement.

On August 5th, 2009 Officers from the Sanford Police Department responded to 107 Mayfair Circle in reference to a vehicle burglary in progress. Officers made contact with the victims who advised that they witnessed an unknown black male wearing a white shirt and tan shorts inside their vehicle removing the car stereo.

Having been startled by the vehicles owners the suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect left so quickly he managed to run out of his shoes leaving them behind in the victim's driveway. The victims chased after the suspect who proceeded to throw their stereo back at them. The victims eventually lost sight of the suspect in the area of Country Club Circle.

A perimeter was established to contain the suspect. With the assistance of the Seminole County "Alert" helicopter alert and the Lake Mary Police Department K-9 unit the suspect was located in the back yard of 140 Country Club Cir. laying down behind a shed. The suspect was positively identified as Terry Leroy Tillman Sr. by his Florida ID card. Mr. Tillman was in fact missing his shoes...

On November 10th, 2009 Terry Leroy Tillman Sr. entered the Seminole County courthouse where he appeared before Judge Donna McIntosh. Mr. Tillman entered a plea of No Contest to the charges of Burglary of a Conveyance and Felony Petty Theft.

Terry Leroy Tillman Sr. was sentenced to 7½ years prison for the Burglary and 5 years for the Felony Petty Theft. Mr. Tillman was adjudicated as a Habitual Felony Offender. Due to this designation, Mr. Tillman was sentenced to an extended prison term. Mr. Tillman is not scheduled for release until 01/29/2017.

The citizens in our community can rest assured that Mr. Tillman is not prowling through their neighborhoods at night any longer. Mr. Tillman is the second criminal convicted under the Sanford Police Departments Criminal Repeat Offender Program.

"For those few criminals that think crime pays...not in Sanford. If you are committing crimes in our city, you need to know we will relentlessly pursue you and seek the maximum incarceration allowed under Florida law."
