Police Officer Salary: 2007-2008 $35,720 - $49,445 Annual City Educational Incentives: Associate Degree $500 Bachelor Degree $1000 Masters Degree $1500 Annual State Educational Incentives:* Associate Degree or 60 hours $360 Bachelor Degree or 120 hours $960 Maximum Annual State Educational Incentives $1560 * For Educational and Advance Training Courses Qualifications: Police Officer applicants MUST: Be at least 21 years of age Be a citizen of the United States Have high school diploma or equivalency Successfully completed Florida Police Standards Training Be in good physical condition 20/40 corrected vision Honorable Armed Forces Discharge (if applicable) Meet Drug Usage Standards / Pass Drug Screen Be in compliance with City of Sanford's Tobacco Abstention Policy of one year

Hiring Process: Police Officer candidates must successfully complete the following steps: Complete both City of Sanford and Police Job Applications Written Skills Test Panel Interview Physical Abilities Test Truth Verification Exam (CVSA)

Conditional Employees must successfully complete the following: Background Investigation Psychological Examination Medical Exam with EKG Drug Screening
