The City of Sanford and the Orlando Sanford International Airport Present Star Spangled Sanford on the RiverWalk! From I-4 (Orlando): Take Exit 101C (SR 46) turn right onto SR 46. Continue straight on SR 46 (turns into First St.) about 3.5 miles. From I-4 (Daytona): Take Exit 101 (SR 46) turn left onto SR 46. Continue straight on SR 46 (turns into First St.) about 3.5 miles. From 417 (Orlando): Take Exit 49 (427/Ronald Reagan Blvd.) Turn right onto CR 427. Continue straight about 3.5 miles (turns into Sanford Ave.)
Road closures: On July 3rd and July 4th, Seminole Boulevard from US 17-92 to Mellonville Avenue will be closed for event staging. Customers and residents of the Marina may enter the Island from Palmetto Avenue. Businesses on Marina Island will be open: Rivership Romance, Wolfy’s, RiverWalk Pizza, Limoncello’s and The Palms Island Resort will be accessible from Palmetto Ave. Parking: There will be a $5 parking charge for City lots. Handicapped parking will be available at City Hall, Hood Ave, Palmetto and First. Marina access: On July 4th,the boat launching area will be secured with no unauthorized access. In addition, waterway traffic will be restricted for security reasons. While the public boat ramps will be closed, docked marine vehicles may exit the Marina area at 11:30 AM, 3:30 PM or 7:30 PM. To exit at one of these times, you must meet at the Rivership Romance Office 30 minutes prior to the launch time you choose to notify authorities of your intentions. Your vessel will be escorted out of the marked no-entry zone (i.e.safety zone) and no vessel will be allowed back in until after the fireworks area has been deemed "clear," approximately 10:30 PM. To ensure the safety of the general public during the event, the Sanford Marina will close at 8 AM on July 4, 2008. There will be no launching of boats after this time from the Marina. Other boat launches in the area are Wayside Park under I-4 on 17-92 and in Volusia County. No personal fireworks of any kind. No pets, no grills or furniture other than appropriate for outdoor use. All bags and containers subject to search. NO COOLERS AFTER 3PM. This will be strictly enforced and we thank you for your cooperation. |
