Mayor Jeff Triplett
Jeff Triplett was originally elected Mayor in 2010 and is currently on his 3rd term which ends in 2022. As Mayor he presides at council meetings, serves as spokesperson for the community, and facilitates communication between elected and appointed officials. The Mayor also assists the council in setting goals and in advocating policy decisions, and serves as a key representative in intergovernmental relations. He represents the City of Sanford on the Board of Directors for MetroPlan Orlando, Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, Leadership Seminole, Seminole County Tourism Development Council, and the Sanford Airport Authority. Mayor Triplett was elected to the Board of Directors of the Florida League of Mayors (FLM) in October 2017.
Prior to being elected Sanford Mayor in November 2010, Mayor Triplett served as Chairman of the Downtown Sanford Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). During his time on the CRA board, the agency's accomplishments included: partnering with the University of Central Florida to bring a business incubator to downtown, completing the streetscape and roadway improvement plan on 1st Street, and was instrumental in creating a loan subsidy program that helps downtown building owners renovate their properties.
Mayor Triplett is also the former Chairman of the Seminole County Port Authority, the Sanford Chamber of Commerce and Vice-Chairman of the Sanford Airport Authority. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Sanford Rotary, Sanford Main Street, the Seminole County Small Business Advisory Board and the Florida Collegiate Baseball Summer League.
Mayor Triplett moved to Seminole County in 1992 after graduating from Missouri Southern State University. He has 25+ years in the financial services industry where he has been responsible for multi-million dollar loan and deposit portfolios that consisted of small business and commercial real estate holdings throughout Central Florida.
