Mission Statement 

The Office of Communications carries out communications, marketing, and promotional strategies for the City of Sanford, providing effective citizen engagement through transparency and efficiency, ensuring the City’s image is promoted and perceived positively.


Communications Role: 

Communication with citizens. 
Communication support for City Departments. 
Communication with the media. 
Writes published editorial to promote the City of Sanford. 
Writes and distributes Press Releases, prepares information and supportive materials for public distribution. 
Arranges media interviews and schedules news conferences. 
Provides unity, working with graphic design, including photographic, video production, marketing and advertising support, brochures and literature for the City of Sanford. 
Develops content for the City of Sanford website. 
Develops and manages content for the City of Sanford's social media. 
Prepares the City Manager's Annual Report in cooperation with City Departments. 
Responsible for oversight on city branding efforts and all communication and marketing collateral.
Manages City of Sanford Citizens Academy. 
Staff liaison to the Mayor's Youth Council.
