A Safe Haven For NewbornsThe City of Sanford Fire Department is pleased to be part of a state wide program with A Safe Haven for Newborns-Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, which was created in response to the abandonment of newborn infants in the State of Florida.

Any store, restaurant, or building displaying the yellow and black sign shown here, is a "SAFE PLACE". The Sanford Fire Department is a "SAFE PLACE". Any kid, boy or girl, any age, can go to any Sanford Fire station, as well as many other fire stations in Seminole County if they need help. Ask someone who works there to help you...we know what to do. Help is free and confidential; in conjunction with Boys Town.


Smoke Detector Installations

Smoke DetectorThe Sanford Fire Department will provide and install smoke detectors in your home. These are battery operated smoke detectors and are supplied free of charge to those that request them. Please contact our Fire Prevention office.

Car Seat Installations

Safe Kids of SeminoleAuthorized local Fire Departments will check out your child car seats/child restraints to ensure that they are installed and working properly. Contact your local Fire Department or view our calendar. Then set up an appointment if necessary to have yours checked out.

Sharp's Drop-off

Sharps BoxAll Sanford Fire Stations are available for citizens to drop off their used insulin needles and other bio-hazard materials. They will take your container and exchange it with a new container. Just bring your container in during normal business hours.
