Based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),   Florida Department of Health the lead agency regarding Coronavirus/COVID-19 in Florida, and in close consultation with the Seminole County Office of Emergency Management, the City of Sanford provides the following information regarding programs, facilities and Parks.


The Parks and Recreation Department is accepting and reviewing special event applications at this time. 

Programs/Activities/Leagues and Classes
Start dates may vary. Please visit our programs for specific dates. 

Rentals and City Facilities will resume as follows:
The Sanford Museum, June 9th
Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium, June 15th 
Larry A. Dale Aquatic Center, June 15th
Ft. Mellon Splash Pad, June 15th
Pavilion Rentals, July 1st

Sanford Civic Center, Monroe Hall, Shuffleboard Club, Velma H. Williams Westside Community Center, Bettye D. Smith Cultural Arts Center will will reopen on July 15th. 

All greenspaces and trails remain open for individual use and groups of ten or less. Tennis courts and, pickleball courts are open for play. Restrooms at the courts will be operating from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

As of June 1st all playgrounds, outdoor basketball courts, racquetball courts and restroom have reopened. The City of Sanford asks all residents and visitors to continue following guidelines on social distancing, hand washing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
