Based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),   Florida Department of Health the lead agency regarding Coronavirus/COVID-19 in Florida, and in close consultation with the Seminole County Office of Emergency Management, the City of Sanford provides the following temporary closures and cancellations, effective immediately:

Events
The City of Sanford is cancelling all special events scheduled through April 30, 2020. The Parks and Recreation Department is not accepting or reviewing any event applications at this time. 

Programs/Activities/Leagues and Classes
All programs, activities, leagues and classes will be suspended as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice. 

Rentals and City Facilities
Rentals of all City facilities and Park Pavilions are now cancelled through April 30, 2020.   City facilities closed through April 30 include: Sanford Civic Center, Monroe Hall, Sanford Museum, Shuffleboard Club, Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium, Chase Park, Larry A. Dale Aquatic Center, Westside Community Center, Sanford Senior Center, Pinehurst Park, Bettye D. Smith Cultural Arts Center and the Splash Pad located at FT. Mellon Park.  

Parks 
In an abundance of caution and being consistent with other municipalities in Seminole County, the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department is temporarily closing all playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, racquetball courts and restrooms until further notice.
