Based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),   Florida Department of Health the lead agency regarding Coronavirus/COVID-19 in Florida, and in close consultation with the Seminole County Office of Emergency Management, the City of Sanford provides the following temporary closures and cancellations, effective immediately:

Rentals and City Facilities
Rentals of all City facilities and Park Pavilions have been cancelled through May 31, 2020. City facilities closed until May 31st include: Sanford Civic Center, Monroe Hall, Sanford Museum, Shuffleboard Club, Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium, Chase Park, Larry A. Dale Aquatic Center, Westside Community Center, Sanford Senior Center, Pinehurst Park, Bettye D. Smith Cultural Arts Center and the Splash Pad located at FT. Mellon Park.  

Parks 
All Sanford Parks green space will remain open at this time. Sanford Parks and Recreation staff strongly recommends all users exercise extra caution when in any public area.

Landscape maintenance of City properties, including lake treatment in all city parks

**All required fees for reservations must be paid in full within one full business week (Monday through Thursday) from date of request for reservations and no later than noon the Wednesday before the event if booked within the week of requested event. Reservation/permit issuance is not confirmed until all fees have been paid. If insurance certificate is required, it must be submitted prior to reservation payment. Permits must be brought to the Park during times of usage. Rental fees are refundable if a Permittee cancels at least 2 full business days prior to the event. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for a refund. The City does not refund rental fees if weather prevents a Permittee from having an event. However, a Permittee can reschedule for another day. Please call 407-688-5103 to cancel or reschedule.

  • Winter hours - November - February 9am - 5pm

  • Summer hours - March - October 9am - 6pm

Fort Mellon Park hours 

  • Winter hours - November  - February 9am- 6pm

  • Summer hours - March - October 9am - 7pm

Please Note: A Permittee's reservations entitles the permittee to use only the shelter(s) the permittee has reserved. The park remains open to the general public at all times. Please help us keep our Parks clean by properly disposing of trash.
