Fingerprinting is available at the Sanford Police Department Lobby on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Payment of $5.00 for service is accepted in cash only. Fingerprints for juvenile identification cards are free of charge.

The Sanford Police Department will conduct background checks for local records only (Sanford Police Department records only). The Department, for a fee, will fingerprint citizens, but it is the responsibility of the employing business to mail the finger print cards off to FDLE or the FBI. I have a new alarm system do I need to register with the police department? Are there any fees?
No, you do not register the alarm system with the Police Department. The only fee that will be applicable is if there is a false alarm more than 3 times in a 30-day period. The fourth false alarm in a 30-day period will cost $250.00 and each false alarm after the fourth false alarm in a 30-day period could cost $500.00 each.

Officers can assist by helping you contact family members, friend or locksmith of your choice. Officers are not authorized to physically assist or gain entry to a locked vehicle unless there is an immediate threat or danger.
